I’m Isabel Brittain I’m a Professional Organiser based in South East London.
I help people make their lives flow more easily.
Background
Ever since I can remember I’ve enjoyed arranging things, creating order from chaos,
making spaces functional and beautiful.
My background is in literature and the arts. Over the the twenty years working in this area I naturally organised - websites, manuscripts, offices, people, moves, storage units, art works. I’ve designed and laid out gallery spaces. I’ve packed and stored art works and rare books. I’ve catalogued book and art collections.
I have personally packed up and set up homes, arranged many moves and organised and packed up homes following bereavements.
It is amazing to see the positive difference an ordered and uncluttered home or work environment can make to people. And how letting go of what we no longer need helps us to feel lighter and freer.
Approach
People lead busy lives with multiple demands on their time and home organisation can
fall to the bottom of a long list, is personally challenging, or simply feels too
unmanageable to tackle alone.
My approach is client-centred and non-judgmental. I work with clients so they feel safe,
comfortable and supported whilst changes are made.
I am a member of APDO (the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers) and
am aware of some the challenges organisation can represent for people with ADHD.
Origin Story
Many years ago, long before personal organisation became a known profession, my beloved aunt Betsy shared an idea for a new business with me. She was going to call it Godsend - its purpose being to help people in their homes or businesses to get things in order. At the time I thought it was a great idea and that she’d be excellent at it. For one reason or another the business never happened.
Now my aunt is no longer with us.
It is my intention to honour her memory, her ingenuity and her spirit with Be Organised.
Betsy loved bees and a tidy cupboard.
